| The Estate Agency Affairs Board, the statutory regulator of the estate agency profession, will be presenting
its Annual National Imbizo Seminars during August and September 2008.
The main focus will be to inform stakeholders of the New Education Dispensation inputs having regards to the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and Services SETA which, will have come into effect on 15 July 2008.
Estate agents and property stakeholders will have the opportunity to informally interact with the EAAB’S CEO, Mrs Nomonde Mapetla and discuss matters of mutual interest and concern with her.

| | Draft Regulation on Education of Estate Agents | » 23 January 2008 |
| The proposed Regulations relating to the Standard of Training of Estate Agents are published by the Board for the general information of estate agents and stakeholders. The draft regulations are, in most respects, similar to the regulations that were published for comment in the Government Gazette during August 2007. It will be noted, however, that the Final Summative Assessment, which would have formed an integral component of the NQF Level 4 and 5 Qualifications, has been superseded by the Professional Designation Examination – one of the essential requirements for the professionalisation of estate agency. It is anticipated that the effective date for the coming into operation of the regulations will be 1 April 2008. Stakeholders will be kept informed of all further developments in the implementation of the regulations by way of regular website updates.

| Due to the unexpectedly late release of results for the june board examination candidates who wrote that examination but were unsuccessful will be granted until 3 August 2007 within which to register for the next scheduled examination on 23 August 2007. |
