EAAB COVID-19 LOCKDOWN RESPONSE PLAN
 

The Covid-19 pandemic is an unprecedented global test and in accordance with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement on Monday 23 March 2020, the Estate Agency Affairs Board’s offices will remain closed until the end of the lockdown period.

We are however committed to servicing our stakeholders as best as we can during these difficult times and as such have introduced a raft of measures to minimise the impact of the lockdown.

The regulator has made provisions for a core team of employees to work remotely to continue to offer the following services.

Queries can be directed to the corresponding emails listed above.

Our teams will endeavour to attend to and solve as many queries that are directed to the above email address, but we appeal for understanding if service levels are not maintained from time to time.
 

The EAAB is currently experiencing problems with both the MyEAAB and MyCPD online portals.  This is receiving urgent attention. 


During the lockdown period all property practitioners that are doing the following transactions for Fidelity Fund Certificates please email your documentation to LeboM@eaab.org.za

INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION FORM

In order to proceed and finalise your application the following documentation is required:

  1. Certified copy of ID
  2. Certified copy of Passport (where applicable)
  3. Certified copy of valid Work Permit (where applicable)
  4. Proof of payment of the registration fees
  5. Letter of employment, signed by both the principal of the firm confirming employment
  6. Individual application form

NEW APPLICATION FOR A FIRM

In order to proceed and finalise your application the following documentation is required:

  1. CIPRO/ CIPC document
  2. Bank letter, confirming that the trust account has been opened in terms of “Section 32(1) of the Act 112 of 1976"
  3. Letter from an IRBA registered auditor confirming acceptance of appointment
  4. Principal and Business application form
  5. Certified copy of ID
  6. Proof of payment

Please Note: The EAAB and the property sector is classified as Level 2 in the lockdown process.  We are awaiting the outcome of the Ministers decision on the industry request, and stakeholders will be duly advised if anything should change.

However we are currently putting the necessary logistics in place to have all EAAB employees in a position to be able to work remotely.  It is thereby anticipated that we should be able to offer full services again including Call Centre operations with the next two weeks.
