APOLOGY BY ESTATE AGENCY AFFAIRS BOARD TO MRS NOMONDE MAPETLA

APOLOGY BY ESTATE AGENCY AFFAIRS BOARD TO MRS NOMONDE MAPETLA

The EAAB confirms the findings by the then Public Protector, Advocate Thuli Madonsela, regarding the actions of the Board presided over by Mr Thamsanqa Bolani in 2011, in that Mrs Nomonde Mapetla –

  • was improperly suspended and dismissed as the Chief Executive Officer of the EAAB;
  • was victimised for uncovering and pursuing abuse of funds by estate agents; and
  • suffered prejudice as a result of the improper suspension and dismissal; and
  • receive an apology from the EAAB for the improper termination of her employment.

Accordingly, and in due compliance with the findings and directive by the Public Protector, the EAAB hereby unequivocally extends an apology to Mrs Nomonde Mapetla for the  improper termination of her employment as the Chief Executive Officer of the EAAB.

The EAAB hereby aims to correct the incorrect views and perceptions about Mrs Mapetla arising from the improper termination of her employment and accordingly confirms that all investigations previously commissioned into allegations of maladministration against Mrs Mapetla turned out to be false and without any merit. All investigations in fact showed her to have an exemplary record as Chief Executive Officer of the EAAB.

 We trust that our apology will be accepted in this light.
