01 March 2011 Erstwhile Chief Executive Officer no longer in the employment of the EAAB
01 MARCH 2011
The Estate Agency Affairs Board wishes to announce that the employment contract between itself and Mrs. Nomonde Mapetla, the erstwhile chief executive officer, has been terminated with immediate effect due to an irreconcilable breakdown in the working relationship between the parties.
Mrs. Mapetla, whose employment contract was, in any event, due to expire on 15 July 2011, is, therefore, no longer in the employment of the EAAB. The Board is steadfastly confident that, in the interim, the EAAB will continue to fulfill its statutory regulatory functions and duties in an effective and efficient manner.
Messrs. Deloittes have, furthermore, been appointed by the Board to undertake a comprehensive forensic investigation into all operational and governance issues affecting the organisation as is usual under circumstances of this nature.
"The Board, in the light of recent events, also intends to draft and adopt a transparent policy pertaining especially to its inspection and investigation activities. The proposed policy will, thereafter, be published on the EAAB website for the information of all stakeholders."
The Board, finally, believes that past events, which have received so much publicity, have consistently been dealt with not only in a professional manner but also in a way that fully accords with its Human Resources policies and procedures.
